Meaghan McLaughlin
More Stories for Dana
Press Records
Meaghan McLaughlin's music holds a searing intensity at its core. She lets it all out on the
excellent opener "Five Point Knot". It's angular and arty like Throwing Muses. "Hummingbird" is
softer, but no less intense.
McLaughlin sings in a dramatic fashion that suits it well. Her voice is one of those rare ones
that sound good in any setting. "Wreckingball" is a stunning, Led Zeppelin-styled lament. McLaughlin's
vocal flights are as nimble as Robert Plants were. The country-ish "Love, Evil Me" is as gothic as
the Handsome Family can be. "Cease Fire" is sadly beautiful.
"More Stories for Dana" is an amazing record.
