Cauda Pavonis
Sigil
Faw 4 Records
Cauda Pavonis are as goth as they come. They are also very good at what they do. Su Farr's
sometimes harsh, sometimes stirring voice is an ideal focal point. Their new album mixes old songs
with new ones.
"Love Like Broken Glass" is as darkly thrilling as Siouxsie and the Banshees can be. "The Dance
(Sigil)" stands out. It's elegantly decadent and features Farr using her upper register in an
appealing way. "Dead Man's Gallery" is rhythmic and menacing. "Winter" is a strong song that offers
a glimmer of hope in the darkness.
"Sigil" is a record that will appeal to fans of the genre.
