Annabelle Chvostek
Water
self released

Annabelle Chvostek's album is very nice. Her songs are clever and lyrical. The cabaret-styled "Voyons Donc" opens the album on high note. "In the Movie" has incredibly poetic lyrics and a simple but sweet meoldy. The use of Andrew Schinasis' alto sax creates a nice interplay with the lead vocal.

"Sirens" is a mesmerising song with a siren-like lead vocal at the centre. The jazz-influenced "Holy" is a beautiful piece that really shows Annabelle Chvostek's talent. "Blood Love Stone" is a touching mediataion on loss and prejudice. The scat singing on "Gamble" is inspired as well.

Water is a rewarding experience and is almost as necessary as water itself is.
