Oh, what beauty here lies within these Walnut Whales.

I first saw Joanna Newsom with her ruffles and her harp opening for the wonderful Devendra Banhart and Entrance. Vetiver played too. Vetiver, they were the last time (last year) I gushed anabashedly about an underappreciated San Francisco gem. And they're still in the rough...

And then she played with Cat Power which was perfect. The two of them one and then the other with some blur of a band in between. It was that night I bought this Walnut Whales. I bought 4 Walnut Whales actually. I'm sending some to friends who might otherwise not never know.

I don't think I've ever done that before.
