My Imaginary Loves use a minimalistic sound on this EP, and it works well. "My heart (and hope to die)" is a propulsive early Sonic Youth-like song with a great interweaving of voices. "Rush" is a lower-tempo but still intense song with plenty of atmosphere. "Handbook of Concealment" is beautifully wrought by the group, recalling Sonic Youth at their most expressive.

My Imaginary Loves have their own voice, and they make it sing on this EP. There's more than enough here to suggest their next record should be a real treat as well.
