Colors of the Sun: Penny Nichols Sings the early songs of Jackson Browne
Penny Nichols
Penny Nichols knew Jackson Browne back in the day, and now she's done an album of his early songs.
"These Days", which everyone from Nico to Golden Palominos has sung, gets a fresh and cool reading. Nichols is in fine voice. "Song for Adam" gets a sensitive reading
that really suits the lovely song. "From Silver Lake" is a great reading of the song, Nichols' voice at its peak. "For a Dancer" is one of the album's finest moments,
Nichols and her band playing one of Browne's best early songs.
It's a sweet, loving tribute from one friend to another and to listener's everywhere.
