Jennings
Collapse, Collide
No Sass Music
Mary Jennings follows an excellent EP a while back with an intriguing full length with some strong songs. The soft opener "Surrender" recalls Sarah McLachlan's early
phase in a good way. Jennings' vocals and piano playing is top notch. "Everlong" is an exciting cover of a Foo Fighters song that she really nails. The soft piano version
of the rock song is an oft-used move, but Jennings has the chops to get away with it.
"Cling to me" is a cool song, with a mood that's easily relatable. "More" sees Jennings at her mellowest, playing her piano softly. It's one of her best songs. It's
a wonderful album.
