Graeme Emmott
Play On
Worldhouse Records

Graeme Emmott hails from Canada and first in well with that country's tradition of singer/songwriters. He has an appealing style and some nice songs.

"Get out of the way" admonishes someone to live life to the fullest and it has a rockin' style that works fine. "The Actor" is a sensitive reflection on lost love that the singer uses to fuel an analogy on acting and life. "What does it take?" is a pretty tough, rockin' tune that attempts to answer what it takes to be a man. Of course there are no easy answers.

"Angels and Monsters" is an equally strong song where Emmott excels vocally and hits a pleasing bluesy tone throughout. He's not doing anything new, but he's doing what he loves to do well.
