Tara Burke records as Fursaxa and this is her seventh album of weird folk with haunting moods. It's the first record she has put together in a studio, though it's still very lo-fi in nature.

"Poplar Moon" sounds like the soundtrack for some heathen ritual that involves human sacrifice. It evokes that "Wicker Man" mood with easy yet dark means. "Celosia" is an equally haunted dirge where her voice is emotionless and deep and takes charge effectively. "Sunhead Bowed" is a tranquil, atmospheric song that Burke handles with her usual aplomb. She really has a unique style and a way with these songs that make her one to watch.
