Tristan Clopêt
Purple EP
Sussex Recordings
Tristan Clopêt has a pretty rockin' sound for this EP, but it's also tempered with appealingly poppy melodies.
Opener "Proximity Bomb" is straight on rock with a Billy Corgan-like vocal to ride it home and a strong guitar part. It's got some nicely funky parts that
remind me of Red Hot Chili Peppers as well. "Superficiality is a sin" is a neat, funky song where Clopêt rails against modern society's vanity. He does
so convincingly also. The guitar parts are impressively played.
"Love and a question" is another song that Clopêt delivers very well and with real intent. His EP is way too short but wets the appetite for something
longer.
