Planetary Nights
R.J McSweeney fronts Planetary Nights and they make convincing rock of the catchy sort on this album. "Try It Again" is a softer song that yields a slight Dylan influence as McSweeney sings of daring to take a second chance on love. He sounds sincere and the tune is bright and promising. "Planetary Nights" is a suggestive song with a moving melody that brings out the best in the singer's vocals. He's definitely on to something here. "N.Y.C." is a fast-edged paean to the big apple, McSweeney really capturing the hot pace of a big city on his wake.
"Ebony Eyes" is a soft, mobbing acoustic song that brings out the best in the band. This album's a real treat.
