Philip Harmonic
I Followed It On Horseback
self-released
Noam Andrews records as Philip Harmonic after doing a stint in an electro duo called Famous in Japan. "Playboy Nights" is a grand ballad that fully reveals
Andrews designs at widescreen pop in the vein of Bowie and Roxy Music. "Phonograph" gracefully builds towards an epic scope. Andrews's vocals hint at his influences,
but they do not overshadow him. "Thrown It All Away" has a modern heart beating beneath its classic rock sheen. Andrews really lives up to his assumed name
here.
"Dark Dark Days" is more strident and still holds on to its pop feel. Andrews thinks grandly and its shows. His album is a proud pop record with tunes and
smarts to spare.
