Andrew Morris
Longbeach EP
self-released
Andrew Morris was a crime lawyer before making a go as a singer. He has a cool bunch of songs on his new EP.
He's a bit reminiscent of Damien Rice here. The opener "Miss You in the Night" has a pleasant Coldplay-ish vibe and a nearly epic chorus that's lodged in
your head at the first listen. "Wedding Song" lives up to it name and avoids sentimentality for the most part. "Innocent" was inspired by Morris' past occupation
and reflects on someone who may not be so innocent as he claims to his lawyer. It's an intriguing song with an unusable theme and an elegiac tune.
This is a very nice EP that points to an intriguing future for Morris.
