Sharon Gosler has a dynamic vocal presence that reminds me of Anastacia, though her music is less dance and more ordinary pop. Her impressive pipes soar on opener "Chance" which sounds like a radio hit. "I Have Survived" is another thundering moment where Gosler uses a brassy Shirley Bassey voice to get her message across. The title song sees her reach new vocal heights, singing an inspirational message to a rockin' backdrop. She definitely has the vocal chops, even if I wish she could hold back a little on occasion and not always deliver at gale force peak. Still, this is a fine record in the commercial vein, yet it has an edge.
