Birdy are deceptively named, they rock pretty hard on this brief EP. Opener "Suffer That" sees Dav Hoof growl like a trouper while Greg Lopez lays down classic rifts on guitar. It's like recent Queens of the Stone Age. "Tossin' and Turnin'" continues to rock but more subtly and with a great tune. They seem like a tight knit unit and can really play. Birdy seem destined for great things on this evidence and their debut is due next year and should be a treat.
