Giles
Dancing with Dolores
May Tree Studios
Giles have made a previous album that I liked, and this new one sees the band stretch their blues sound somewhat.
Mark Koehurst sings and plays multiple instruments while his son Piers plays bass. Giles cover an odd assortment of songs including "Bird on the Wire" and "Nutbush City Limits" while still making their own songs. "Letter to Bush" is understandably pissed off at the president. "Fallen Angel" sees Koehurst singing impressively to a strong baking. He's penned one of his best songs yet. The Spanish-tinged title track is equally good.
Giles have made a strong record and added some nice touches to it.
