French band Shane Cough manages a tense industrial sound on this album. They cross Nine Inch Nails energy with Garbage's pop melodies. Singer Marianne (no surname given) is cunningly furious on opener "Taste of Bruises". Guitarist Gauth riffs like there's no tomorrow. The aggressive "Toxic Body" is pure energy that startles like early Nine Inch Nails.

The aptly named "Hatred" is equally convincing. Marianne seems to channel Hanin Elias fury. The catchy and neat Garbage on steroids sound for "Suspended" makes for one of the best cuts here. Shane Cough make one hell of a racket and they do it good.
