Bedsit Poets
The Summer That Changed
Bongo Beat
Bedsit Poets are Amanda Thorpe and Edward Rogers. Their intimate style is very seductive. On the first track "February Kisses" Thorpe's glorious vocal serves to induce a wistful and sweet mood. The band has been compared to Luna and that seems fair. "Refusing to Play" is warm and radiant, the singers entwined voices working well. "Simple Twist of Emotion" is a simple, sad song that sounds like a sixties pop moment. The cover of Everly Brothers' "Don't Ask Me To Be Friends" is instantly engaging.
It's not summer but Bedsit Poets can make it feel a little less cold.
