"Listen to the Sounds of Winnipeg. The wild breathing of an eternal city". Samples greet us in the title track. The programming here is as wild as ever. This is the most exciting druming I've heard all year (still waiting to hear Enduser's newest). There's something quite mind-numbing/clearing about this music. The pace is lighting, then we move to "Winnipeg is a Dogshit Dildo", which also greets with a sample. An other wild 200 bmp track. The sample-work in this tune is quite well-done. More samples about Winnipeg come up in "Winnipeg is Fucking Over". The 7-step rhythm is huge. This song does a whole lot of super-creative things with rhythm; the programming again is brilliant. "Winnipeg is Steven Stapleton's Armpit" uses even more extraordinary sample-work. It's really good to hear a "drill 'n bass" artist experimenting so wryly as we have with the sort of sample-manipulation in this song. "Die Winnipeg Die Die Die Fuckers Die" has another huge drum sound that goes wild. 128th notes are EVERYWHERE in this track. There's a hypnotizing little melody that comes in at the 3:50 mark, and it doesn't last long. A song like this is full of moments. Like the entrance of the fucked up hi-hat at 4:50. You'll hear it. The last song is "Winnipeg as Mandatory Scat Feed" and is equally enthralling, funny, and good work. There are 3 remixes by Not Half, Fanny, and Spreading the Hepatitis.
