Imagine if someone put Tom Waits on electric shock therapy and then introduced him to Jack Sparrow. The results might sound like this weird little cd.

Andrew Benjamin does the yo-ho-ho and a bottle of rum thing well. Those who don't mind their music with a sense of humor will love this. "Love she said" is a Waits polka with a side order of farce. "The Lily" takes the melodrama to new heights, Danielle Purcell playing the part of the innocent maiden.

"Dementish Waltz" lives up to its title, chugging away merrily and spookily. It's not for everyone but many will adore this record for its sense of adventure.
